| Description | Concerning: Zaccheus Walker Jr.; the state of the new building and the winter; and copper smelting furnaces and the building plan. In the post-script Duncan references his private 'situation' which he discussed with Boulton in person, adding that he was told to look at Boulton 'as a father in the executing of this business'. He states his intentions to marry a girl from Coventry and is awaiting the permission of her father, a Mr Twycroft and wishes Boulton to provide a reference for him. Duncan ends the letter by stating 'shall I beg the favour of you to burn this after you read it', an instruction which was obviously not adhered to. [2 May 1804 N.S.] |
