Concerning Zaccheus Walker's health and a Mr Rey of St Petersburg who dined with Boulton, who came with a letter of introduction from Southern & Pearson of Hull. He requested to see the manufactory and was denied, a letter of introduction to Count Woronzow, and a list of prices for fire engines. Boulton writes that he gave him a line to A Collins but Rey had told Collins that Stokes had supplied him with Birmingham goods for some time, and found he had obtained letters to most Birmingham Houses. Having many unknown persons come to his hotel room, Boulton adds a detailed physical description of the man and requests Walker find out as much information about his character as possible. The letter ends with some comments on war, and that Matthew Robinson Boulton, Southern and his wife, and Hodges and his family are all in London.
