Description"Card of invitation from Mrs. Re[y]nardson."
Dear Sir,
I send you the inclosed to shew you how deep an impression you made on some company you met last spring or summer—I forget which—at Croydon; and I hope, if you have thoughts of visiting this town within the time mention’d, you will accompany Mrs. Vere and Miss M. V. Fothergill to Mrs. Reynardson’s ball.
It is very long since I have heard any thing of you or Mr. J. W. junior, but I hope all matters succeed as well as you can possibly wish them yourselves.
I beg my love to your sister, and remain, dear sir, sincerely yours, C. Matthews [Edited transcript.]
