| Description | (This was formerly fixed to the wrapper which contained all the Copies, W, but it has been torn away.) Mr Wedgwood Sir Permit me by the present to introduce to your acquaintance Mr Thon from Germany. When I inform you that it is at the particular instance of our mutual friend Mr Streiber, I am persuaded it is unnecessary to add any thing further to recommend this Gentleman to your good opinion. I must however say that I shall feel myself highly obliged by any civilities you may confer upon Mr Thon. He is particularly desirous in visiting Etruria, to satisfy that laudable curiosity which it’s justly acquired celebrity naturally excites in the Mind of every well informed person. I should do an injustice to our friend Streiber were I not to express the sentiments of regard & esteem he professes for your amiable family & I beg you to be equally assured of the sincerity of those with which I remain Yours &c M: Robn Boulton Soho Novr 5th 1795
