Description(Dated at East India House.)

My dear Son,
I have no time to write, haveing my hands full of engagements and various business, but I think it will be agreeable to you to know that I am well.
Pray tell Mr. Lawson to proceed as fast as possible in prepareing cutting out tools, dies, and die holders for East India bits of 50 grains, of 100 grains, and 200 grains. He must also get all the four presses finished ready for striking the said E. I. pieces, or I shall not be able to fullfill my contract; and I beg he and you would not mention it to any person.
The rolling must be also push'd forward, and I perceive I shall want Jerom's brother that works at Birmingham, and perhaps another tool maker, for I have upwards of eighteen million of pieces to coin in 60 days. Hodgets must forge a number of dies, for there must be a great stock before hand.
I have seen Miss or Mrs. Mary Fothergill, who confirms that part of Mr. Foreman's will as I wrote to you, viz. £15,333 to each Mrs. Gape, Miss Polly, and Mrs. Mary; also 3000 to Patt and 100£ to Mrs. Fothergill, with the Epsome house to the two Marys for six months only, and 500£ to support the expences of it and the coach; also the reversion of all the land estates (which about 1000 per year after the decease of Mr. John and Mr. Luke Foreman without children) to Mrs. Gape, and neither John or Luke are likely to have any.
My love to your dear sister, and ever remain your very affectionate father,
M. B.
