Soho Jany 27-1794 Dear Sir I was very anxious to hear how you got to Town & whether you have recoverd the fateague I also wish to know something of the aspect of our affairs & when you think it necessary for me to come up & I will come provided the Roads are passable for we have now the deepest Snow I have seen of many Years & fear we shall hear of many Misfortunes The letters recvd this day are from Mr Willoughby,-Mr Green of Nottingm. wth his deed,-Mr Kendrew asking our advice how to obtain an Act to prolong their Patent-Mr Hamble-Mr Jones the Manchester Lawyer-Mr Lawson-Mr Barns & 13 others to my Self, besides those to my house. I have wrote Mr Jones that I have sent his Letter to You in London for your opineon & have observd to him that although we are disposed to act liberaly in all cases towards ye unfortunate, and as to his Letter arived too late for him to receive an answer from us by Tuesday I will therefore consult you before we send him a specifick answer. I do not recollect what you wrote him last upon this business nor can I find the letter Book, I must therefore beg youl write to me or Mr Jones upon it I & Mr Southerns will answer all the others I now find my self in want of 5 Ton of Tin or say 35 Blocks besides those of B:W: at Birmgm. but I cannot wait 'till Tin can be sent at this Season from Cornwall I therefore wish you to inform Mr Wilson & perhaps he could send me some from Bristol-otherwise I must buy it of the Birmgm. Hucksters I cannot prevail upon Johnson to send me 2 Ton of Cake Copper which now lies dead at Bradley nor sell it me at the Birmgm. price. I could repay him in a fortnight as I have 15 Ton on the Road from Neith but that I fear will be too late. Remember me kindly to Mrs. Matthews & assure her I have not forgot her or her friendly Letters & that I beg her pardon & patience Pray Study your own case, particularly how to preserve it in good order dureing this inclement Season, & youl oblige all your friends & particularly Dear Sir Your faithfull one M: Boulton |
