| Description | Instructions for the distribution of prints and proofs of his father, made by Mr. Sharp. (Fixed to this is the wrapper which formerly contained all the Copies for Chippindall.)
Soho, February 3rd, 1802. Dear Sir, As I understand Mr. Sharp has expressed a wish for you to undertake the general distribution of the prints to such persons as may be appointed to sell them, finding that such an avocation would interfere too much with his professional engagements, I shall be obliged to you to concert with Mr. Sharp the necessary arrangements for that purpose. From an account furnished by Mr. Sharp I find that 300 proofs and 139 prints have been struck off, and out of this number- 9 Nine proofs have been delivered to my order in London. 13 Thirteen ditto forwarded to me at Soho. 22 to be deducted from 300 leaves 278. Of the prints- 5 have been delivered to my order in London 13 and sent to Soho 18 from 139 leaves 121 prints. . . . of the foregoing I believe a few others have been delivered by Mr. Sharp to my father, of which he will give an account. If Mr. Sharp should wish to retain any impressions for sale, you will please to let him have them; and should he find sale for more, he can at any time recieve an additional supply from your stock. Mr. Sharp had the goodness to promise he would get the plate and the prints which are to be sent here properly packed ready for you to send them to the carrier, to which I request the favor of your early attention, and remain, dear sir, Your obedient servant, Robinson Boulton [Edited transcript.] |
