Description"Statement of the books under his care, and his former allowances, as a basis for the settlement of his salary."

Soho, July 29th, 1817.
Sir,
I have taken up your statement to September 30th, 1816-at £1700.
In regard to your proposed allowance of £250 from September 30, 1816, I beg leave to remark that you allow'd me
for Mint and Private Books £200
I have now the care of Chippindall's part in the Plate
Company's concern, for which he was paid 80
I have also the Plate Company's accounts and Rolling Mill,
for which Mr. Pearson had 100
to which add Tew Books --
When you spoke of a consideration for past services, at the time of withdrawing your agreement respecting the coinage, I expected something favorable would arise to me therefrom, but in your estimate I perceive nothing relating thereto.
I merely state these things lest they should have escaped attention in your formation of a definitive arrangement.
I am, sir,
Your obliged humble servant,
Wm. D. Brown
