Description"A considerable quantity of old pence has been sent to them to remelt. Asks if it is illegal to melt them down. Old copper coin will certainly disappear. Informed by Mr. Foster that the idea of assimilating the currencies of the two countries has been abandoned, and that pieces of 52 to the lb. are to be coined for Ireland."
