Agreably to my promise, I write to tell you that I arrived at Bath quite safe at about five o,clock, where I found Mr, and Mrs Smith waiting for me with a fly. The coach by which I was booked at Cheltenham did not go to Bath as we thought; but to Bristol, and so I came on in another coach from thence to Bath Mr Smith is very much obliged for your letter, and says he will pay every attention to it, so as to prepare me for Eton. Please to tell Miss Burgess, that she has forgotten to send the little instrument that I use, when I am ill, but Mr Smith says that it is of no consequence, as he can let me use his, if necessary. I have now nothing more to say, and so with my love to all at home, believe me to remain your affectionate son
