| Description | "Wishes the money for subscription to testimonial of Mr. Girdlestone, and for leaving-books to be sent in preference to application for orders for them." (Directed to 10 Lower Parade.)
Eton. Monday. March 14. 1836 My dear Papa, With respect to getting the order for the subscription for Mr. Girdlestone’s book, I do not think I shall be able to do it, for it is customary to give orders more for necessary things, such as schoolbooks, papers, ink &c, than for a voluntary subscription;—and as to Mynors leaving book, I believe that Mr. Coleridge will not give an order for a leaving book of more than one pound;—I should therefore be much obliged, if you would send me the money from home.—I am sorry to say that I have not found any partner for a boat;—I have examined Windsor Hill, as well as I could, but I have not been able to get very near, & it seems to be sand.—The next time that Dr. Keate comes to Mr. Coleridges I will endeavour according to your suggestion to have his name inscribed in the book he gave me.—Please to give my love to all at home, and believe me to remain Your affectionate Son. M. P. W. Boulton.
