| Description | "Return to Eton." (Directed to 2 Clarence Lawn.)
Eton. Friday. My dear Papa. I arrived here quite safe, yesterday, though it seems that I had a narrow escape of being upset, for one of the Windsor coaches ran against another, & one of them was very much damaged. The horses of our coach ran over a pig, which caused one of them to fall a little, so that the skin was rubbed off his knee. I am in Dr. Hawtrey’s division, so that I shall have to do an essay this half; I am the last boy in it. There are a good many new boys in Mr. Coleridge’s house, & among them a nephew of Sir Robert Peel’s. Cotton has not come back yet, and I do not expect him for some time. I cannot tell you anything more, as the post is just going out. Pray give my love to all, and believe me to remain Your affectionate son M. P. W. Boulton.
