| Description | "Notice of debt incurred by him, and request of assistance in discharging it." (Directed to 2 Clarence Lawn.)
My dear Papa. I have written to inform you of a circumstance which I omitted to tell you in the holidays, & for which I am afraid you will be very much displeased with me. namely, that last half year I was foolish enough to run into debt to an amount greater than I shall be able to pay viz four pounds. I have written to know if you could forward me the pocket money that I should otherwise have received for future half years I will give you my promise that I will never so far forget myself again. I remain your affectionate son Montagu Boulton.
