| Description | "Acknowledgement of money advanced for discharge of his debt, and expression of regret for his misconduct."
My dear Papa. Agreably to my brothers directions I have written to acknowledge the receipt of the money which you sent me. I am sure I feel the displeasure both of you & of Mr. Coleridge which I have incurred through my own folly enough to prevent my ever being capable of the same thing again. I do not think I have much to tell you of my lessons &c, so you must excuse my writing you a short letter. I have been put into what is called the first class by Mr Cookesley the master I am up to in school. We shall take our removes about a week before Christmas so that I shall then be upper remove Lower division, but we shall not have any trials. I have not yet been read over for my last time of being sent up by Dr Hawtrey, so that I have not yet recieved a book from him. I learn from Mr Evans the drawing master three times a week, & like it very much. I am afraid I have nothing more to say, so with my love to all at home believe me to remain your affectionate son. Montagu Boulton.
