Description"Wants permission to buy an additional bookcase."

Eton. Nov. 8th. 1837.
My dear Papa.
I write to ask if you will have the goodness to send us some more tea, for our former supply is exhausted, & also to know whether you have any objection to my getting a bookcase for my books, which are too numerous to be held without them. There is one at present, which belonged last half to Pocock, which I can get for a pound; & it is just the right size. Dr. Hawtrey has said that he intends to send me up; & Montagu has got the prize for the holiday task which Mr. Coleridge set his remove.—Mr. Coleridge intends to pass through Birmingham this holidays, & says that he intends to come & see the manufactory.—There is at present rather a disturbance in the school, owing to the boys having let off crackers in the school yard on the 5th of November. All the boys have absence at one o’clock except the sixth form, & some of them have an additional punishment. I have found the books you sent me very useful, particularly Schlegel & Hallam. I am glad to hear that Hugh William is well enough to return to Mr. Bucklands. Pray give my love to all & believe me to remain
Your affectionate son
M. P. W. Boulton
