| Description | "Arrangements for return home. Report of his and Montagu’s distinction during the half-year."
Eton. Dec. 3d. 1837. My dear Papa. I write to tell you that I am coming home in the Tantivy next Tuesday. Properly I should not be able to start till after 12 o’clock, so I was obliged to ask for leave to come home before. I asked Dr. Hawtrey for this on Monday, but he said that he would see my tutor about it, & did not give me leave till Friday. I have just received a letter from Mr. Davis, saying that he has secured the places. I suppose Montagu has told you that he has been sent up twice this half.—Mr. Okes has also sent me up twice for last half. Removes have just been taken, & Mr. Coleridge has been as lucky as usual. In the Remove which got into the fifth form two of his pupils, Campbell & Blomfield, got first & second; & in the remove which got from the fourth form into the Remove, one of his pupils, Right , was first.—I suppose we shall be told at Enstone whether we are to stop there or not. Pray give my love to all, & believe me to remain Your affectionate son, M. P. W. Boulton.
