| Description | "Events at Eton, and holiday duration." Eton Tuesday 18. 1834. My dear Papa, I received your letter this morning and hasten to reply to it. Our holidays last three weeks and two days. The scholarship was decided on Saturday, Lonsdale obtained it, and Lyttelton the Medal, they are both of them Mr. Chapmans pupils, Carter has gone to Kings College so that Thinn is at present the head of the school. I and Cotton were sent up, a day or two ago. The Westminster boys have challenged the Eton ones to a boat race, but it has not been accepted yet as Hare the best rower of the school left Eton a day or two ago. Give my love to Miss Burgess, Aunt Bessy, and Sisters, and believe me to remain Your affectionate Son M. P. W. Boulton
