Description"Has obtained more information relative to a butler who he thinks may suit me."

My dear Sir
Knowing you were not provided with a butler when I left home I have been making some enquiry here about one & I have to day seen a young man who I think as far as appearance goes & the general outline of his character which I have received from Mr. Joy is likely to suit you-if you have not already engaged a servant.
Let me know by the next post whether you wish me to make any further enquiry about him. He has lived with a Capt. Lovell last for several years to the term of his death which happened about seven months ago. I hope all the ladies at Soho are well. I intend to return to Birmm abt. the beginning of next week.
Most sincerely
Yr
Geo Barker
