My dear Sir
I was much disappointed in not being able to see you before you set off for Tew, and am still more mortified that I am under the necessity of setting of this evening for Liverpool as it will render the chance of my availing myself of you kind invitation fo Tew uncertain. If I come back in time I shall do all I can to reach you before you leave if it is only for a day. Alston has just procured me two dogs from Fleatston on trial, & I think under the circumstances I cannot do better than send them to Pierce & decided according to his opinion & I hope you will approve. I will forward them by one of the coaches on tuesday & will you have the goodness to let some one come for them. If both or either of them answer, you will please to decide according to your convenience about keeping or sending them back. I shall have no occasion for them. Wishing you excellent sport I remain
most sincerely Yrs
Geo Barker
The names of the dogs are Carlo & Tramper the Brown one is Tramper
