Description"Explanation and observations relative to the notice of objection to my vote for North Warwickshire." (Redirected to Soho.)

My dear Sir
The Notice which has been served upon you is one only of a great number served at the instigation of the Reform Committee in Birmm. If you are at home when the question comes on before the revising Barrister it will be desirable for you yourself to attend otherwise there is a chance of your Vote being struck off. If you cannot I or George will attend and state what we know and perhaps the Court may be satisfied. Henfield who signs the Notice is an Arch Radical and one of the Active Members of the Political Union. Under the 39 Sect of the Act it is competent I believe for any perosn on or claiming to be on the Register of Votes to object to any name on the Register, and this too however unreasonable & unauthorized the objection might appear to be. Whether this can be done a second & third time is doubtful & a question upon this point will probably ere long come before the Courts. I do not consider the omission of the number of any consequence. I conclude we shall be safe in stating and swearing that you have 40s per annum clear of all mortgages & incumbrances whatsoever issuing out of Allen's farm in Warwickshire. Thank Miss Wilkinson for her note and receipt my best rems. to the circle at Tew Park
Yr very truly
Geo Barker
Eliza John & myself intend to make a short excursion from home some day next week
