| Description | These documents were, it appears, formerly in three bundles, as follows, though they had been disturbed somewhat:
1-37. Letters of Henry Geast. 38-47. Letters of George Simcox. 43-48. Copies of letters of Ann Boulton.
Geast's letters were all written to accompany half-yearly remittances of interest upon a loan he had received from Matthew Boulton. After Boulton's death the interest on the loan was assigned to Ann Boulton. Few of the letters contain anything more than the barest description of the remittance. All are dated at Geast's residence, Bordesley Park, near Alcester, Worcestershire. In 1822 he changed his name to Henry Geast Dugdale. |
