DescriptionPardon me my dear Nanny for not writing to you oftener but I have so many Persons to wait on all day & so many of their notes & Letters to answer at night that I have not had one hours leasure since I came to London. I have this day been with Mr Talbot for the first time. I found him ill in bed but says my business shall not be retarded & further says that there is a necessity for my being in Town the Eighth of May as that is ye first day of Term Now as I know I cannot stay in Town untill ye 8th of May I therefore have this minute determind to come home for a fortnight & then I hope to have the Pleasure of attending my dear wife to London where I will devote allmost my Whole time to her wishes for just as long as she pleases
I am very sorry my Love to disapoint you but when I see how hard it snows & when I consider that there will be no genteel publick amusements in ye Easter week & that the days will be longer & the weather finer by may day I therefore am determind to set out on Wednesday & to return wth. you again to London in a fortnight or sooner if more agreeable to your self
I dined with the Russian Ambasadure to day & find we are agoing to send Ten men of War to Denmark to blow them up unless they deliver the Queen
I dined wth. Ld. Shelburns Brother on Wedne[sday] wth. Garrick on Thursday, wth. Motteux & 2 foreign Noblemen yesterday, wth. ye Russian Ambasadure to day, wth. Madam Montague to morrow, wth. Fordyce & Lady Margerett on Monday, wth. Dr Franklin on Tuesday, nowhere on Wednesday, & sup wth. own dear Wench on Thursday. Then will my happiness be compleat

Pray inform Mr Scale that he must Oblige Thacker to work wither he will or not & that he must get all the Ear rings he can done by Saterday night next I mean of the 2 long sorts, Green but may do a doz of white & a few Pairs of other Coulers wch. must be sent by the Coach on Sunday night so as to be here on Tuesday that being Possitivly the last day. they must also send Zaffanys things for Banks is orderd to Sail before our war begins wth. the Deans
