| Description | Thursday night London My dear Nanny I dare say you will be much surprised to find me yet writeing to you from London where I shall still continue two Days longer for ye days are so very short & Cold that I can do but little Business in a day Yesterday morning I got a Friend to present one of my Sword Hilts to the Prince Edward who was so pleased with it that he orderd it to be mounted immediately & I had ye pleasure of Seeing him ware it at the Play last Night. the Prince of Wales also liked it very much. & desir’d I would make him one but a little different I have also presented ye Prince of Wales with something else Which I will inform you of when I have the longed for happiness of seeing you. I have not yet bought any China though I have searchd almost all the Shops in Town I have seen 2 or three setts that please me but the price is 40 & Fifty Guineas a Sett which has made me so difficult in my Choice that I cant find any of an inferior price that pleases me. not that I think a Sett of that price too good for my dear Nanny but had rather thee wouldst come to Town with me in the spring & please thy own Fancy for I fear I shall not buy any this time unless there is anything in a fresh Cargo that is to be unpacked tomorrow morning wch. I am to go & See for I am loath to come home without some I have seen docter Simpson & his Lady who are both well & desire their respectfull Compliments to you & Brothr. & Mamma my Brother John is well but I have got a bad Cold & have almost blowd my Nose off. all my Affairs that I wanted to settle here are Settled to my Satisfaction & shall indulge one day Now with some of my Philosophick Friends I pray God preserve thy Body in health & thy mind in Sweet Tranquility & be assured that my Love & Friendship for thee is as Steady as the very Foundations of the Earth. I have not oppertunity now of adding any thing more than my best affections & duty to my Worthy Mamma & Love to our Brother & am thy true Thy Sincere Affectionate & best of Friends Mattw. Boulton
