| Description | Matthew Boulton’s stock of tallow candles is nearly exhausted; he wishes Woodward to order more from Wheble. Cheshire sent a parcel of money on 19 Feb. for the payment of Slark’s balance, which he hopes is arrived safely. (Cf. the letter of 21 Feb.) Soho, March 2d, 1801. Mr. John Woodward. Dear Sir, Mr. Boulton directs me to inform you that his stock of tallow candles is nearly exhausted; and he therefore requests that you will do him the favour to order a replenish from Mr. Wheeble’s of the usual quantities and qualities. On the 19th ultimo I took the liberty to trouble you with a small parcel, per box, containing £4 2. 9., to pay Mr. Slark’s balance, which I hope you received safe. I remain, dear sir, your most obedient humble servant, Wm. Cheshire |
