| Description | ‘ The calamities of the Times having produced much individual Distress in this Neighbourhood Mr Boulton has consequently numerous & continual Applications for Assistance, insomuch that he finds himself under the Necessity of setting some Bounds to his charitable Wishes, or the Income of his Estate wou’d be inadequate to the Gratification of them. Having no Acquaintance with Mrs Fortescue, & being confin’d to his Bed, Mr Boulton trusts the above Causes will excuse his remitting so small a Sum as three Pounds, as well as for not replying to her first Application.’ |
