| Description | Soho Jany 7th 1805 M’r Joseph Curtis Dear Sir, Mr Boulton has received your Favor of the 3d Inst’t & perfectly concurs with you in Opinion respecting the Disadvantage that would arise in the Ploughing of his Land at Saredon from having the projected Feeder cut through it; & as the Committee cannot point out any Advantage likely to accrue to M’r Boulton’s Property from carrying the Measure into Effect, it cannot reasonably be expected that he shou’d yield his Assent to it. We observe in Aris’s Birmingham Gazette of this Day, an Advertisement signed John Pratt, Saredon Mill, giving Notice, that two Magistrates will there attend on Friday next, between the Hours of eleven & three oClock, to survey a private Road in Front of his House, with the View of stopping-up the same:—but Mr Boulton having had no Communication from him, or you, on the Subject he presumes the proposed Alteration will affect M’r Pratt’s Property merely, & has no Relation to the Farm he rents of Mr B. If, however, you perceive M’r Boulton’s Interest to be at [all] concerned in the Object of the aforesaid Meeting, he begs you will do him the Favor to attend it, on his behalf. I beg to be kindly remembered to your Fire Side & all Friends whom the Festivities of the Season may draw around it, wishing you & them many happy years. I am, respectfully, Dear Sir, Your most ob’t hum Serv’t Wm Cheshire |
