Mr John Harvey
Sir,
Your last Favr wd have had earlier Attention had Mr Boulton’s Health been such as to admit of frequent Intercourse with him
I observe that the Prospect of your being in this Neighbourhood soon is removed, on which Mr Boulton remarks that a Month or six Weeks hence wou’d suit him as well as at present; that the Objects he wished to see you upon are—the surveying & valuing a House near Soho that he has rebuilt with a suite of new Stables &c —& to consult you about a new Room he wishes built for a particular Purpose.
To shorten the Business of the Chimney Pieces, which Mr Boulton is in immediate want of, he wishes you to procure 2 (ready made if possible, for Expedition’s Sake) according to your own Taste in every Respect, taking the Drawings of the Room alone for your guide. And Mr B will thank you to drop me a Line signifying when he may expect them at Soho, also whether there is any Chance of your being this Way in the Course of the Spring.
Please state what is your customary charge for surveying & valuing, including Travelling Expences &c to such a Distance as Soho?
I am Sir
your most obt h Servt
Wm Cheshire
