Description(On the same sheet is a memorandum by Cheshire.)
Dr Sir
The Gateposts wanted at Hockley Farm, are in Number Ten pair, & consequently Ten Gates—for all the Gates & Gateposts upon the Farm, are not worth one shilling, except for firewood—and as their is now many oak Trees fal’n upon the Farm, I hope Mr Boulton will commission you Immediately to wait on Mr Armishaw to request that Number, as their cannot be a better opportunitye—
Whither he will allow Gates or not I know not—but as to Gateposts, I think he cannot refuse, Why should Mr Boulton be precluded the rights & priviledges of Mr Legges Tennants in general I am at a loss to know, but their can be neither Justice or equity in witholding from him those rights the every Tennant has a right to—
I recd your favor by Murray Hunter Very safe, (Thirty Pounds) for which was much obliged, & remain
Sir
your Obedt St.
