My Lord,
I have received the honor of your Lordship’s Letter inclosing a list of Subscribers to a work which cannot fail to produce the intended good effect of confirming the virtuous energies of those brave heroes who have already fought & bled on the Ocean for their Country’s Cause & of animating others to engage in the same honorable service
I have directed my Agent Mr John Woodward No 13 Londn Street Fenchurch to pay at Lloyd’s Coffee House . . . the above laudable purpose & [beg the] favor of Your Lordship to [add my] Name & that of my S[on] . . . to the list of Subsc[ribers].
