| Description | (Press-copy of an original signed by Cheshire as agent to M. Boulton.) Soho May 2d 1806 Mr Wm Bratt Sir, On reference to the award of the Commrs of the Handsworth Inclosure it appears to me that your building opposite Grove Lane extends the full width of your boundary, the line of which is four feet on the south side of an old hedge in the Garden occupied by M’r Bownas. The fences on the east, north, & south sides of the land adjoining yours have been awarded to George Birch Esqr; &, consequently, a four feet ditch is claimed by M’r Boulton. Permit me to request that you will have the goodness to reconsider this matter before the fence in agitation is proceeded with, the expense of which may probably be dispensed with, a person being now in treaty to take on a Building Lease the vacant lot on which you proposed fixing your stumps & rails for the purpose of securing your quick. I am Sir, your ob’t huml Serv’t Wm Cheshire Agent to M Boulton |
