| Description | Soho August 22d 1806 Mr Cornelius Dixon Dr Sir, Not having received any written authority from you for my government in advancing money to your people, Messrs Fowkes & Morrison, who came here on monday week to finish the stairs at Miss Boulton’s House, I have been obliged to rely on their discretion & assertion, on the strength of which I have advanced them, on your account, Seven Pounds. The job being now finished to Miss Boulton’s satisfaction, there will, I dare say, be no impediment to the settling your account, whenever you may think proper to move Mr Boulton on the subject; but I think it proper to apprise you, that it is expected you will not make any charge for repairing the stairs, as there would not have been any necessity for this extra expence had they been properly done at first. I am Dear Sir your obt Servt Wm Cheshire |
