DescriptionApologises for not having written for two years due to having little or no time to himself. “I am at present with a medical Gentleman in pretty good Practice at the West End of the Town. For notwithstanding the Duchess of Devonshire was so kind as to interest herself in my Behalf, my Mother could not procure me a situation in a Mercantile or Banking House. From what I have seen these two years I cannot say I like the Medical Profession much, for it requires a very great share both of mental and bodily fatigue with but a small chance of succeeding in it. There are perhaps more difficulties annexed to it, than to any other. However, I must do my best to succeed.
