Dear Sir
It would have given me infinite pleasure to have accommodated good Mr Boulton had it been in my power & more so as it would have been a gratification to Mr Legge to have been able to add to Mr. B’s amusemt. But am sorry to say that the last Ass Mr. Legge was possessed of died last Winter Now there is one John Weldon lives in a Cottage at Erdington has an Ass that draws his Cart & is very temperate & in good condition & would answer the intended purpose very well if he can be procured If you will have the goodness to give me a line (if you wish to make trial of him), I will endeavour to make terms
I am Dr Sir with Duty to M.B
very Respectfully
Yours &c &c &c
