| Description | (2 pcs.) Soho, October 20th, 1809. Messrs. Barker & Unett. Gentlemen, Inclosed you have a copy of the form transmitted by Mr. Woodward of the affidavit in Bramall’s affair, also the desired extract from the letter which accompanied it. I refer you to the annexed plan for the particulars necessary to draw up the pair of leases I spoke to you about, for the purpose of which a pair of printed skins is sent herewith. The rent is one penny per square yard, say 25/ per annum, payable half-yearly; the final payment to [become] due at Christmas next; the temporary reservation of the small triangle occupied by Joseph Hodgett’s Cottage need not, I think, affect the rent, as I can give him back an equivalent for the 3½ Yards till he [takes] possession thereof.—Middleton has already built upon the lot of land in question, but the blank in the clause respecting the money to be expended may be filled up £100. Should there be any particular omitted, or further explanation required, if you will have the goodness to favor me with a line I will take an early opportunity of waiting upon you. I am, very respectfully, Gentlemen, your obedient Servant, Wm. Cheshire [On a second (half) sheet is a copy of the plan showing the land to be demised.] [Edited transcript.] |
