| Description | M.R. Boulton is out of danger and recovering well. Mr. Boulton is still in extreme pain. ‘Although I have great confidence in Mr Boulton’s constitution, by the gigantic strength of which he has so frequently been upborne from the bed of pain & sickness, yet I must confess that his appearance now alarms me, & I am apprehensive that it is nothing less than a real progression of his disorder which has produced his present lowness of spirits & the desire under which I now act, of communicating to you his doubts respecting the termination of his present relapse. I pray God we may be mistaken & that it may soon be in my power to send you better news. I should not have thought it proper to touch this tender string if my honoured Master had not required it of me & his positive commands I ever have, & ever must hold sacred.’ |
