DescriptionDear Sir,
I have been desired by our mutual friend Mrs. Walters to reply to your letter respecting the Chimney Ornaments, on the subject of which I have conferred with Miss Boulton, and Miss Boulton has conferred with her Father, and the result of all our conferences is, “that if you think the Chimney Ornaments at £1. 11. 6 will accord with the other Furniture of the Room they are designed for, it is in that case desireable to have them, but if there are any Figures of a similar description that wou’d better please your own taste, and better match the other Furniture, tho’ they shou’d be even double the Price you quote, the latter wou’d be preferred.”
It is considered highly proper that the Ornaments determined on should be attached to marble slabs, and, as they are to stand against Mirrors, the backs shou’d be perfect, as well as the fronts.
Your return being so near hand it is only necessary for me to add our good wishes; and to inform you that Mr. Boulton continues very poorly, tho’ better to day and yesterday than for some days past. Mr. R. B. has relapsed a little; but we hope it is only the effect of a slight cold. The weather is sadly against convalescents.
I remain, Dear Sir, sincerely yours,
Wm. Cheshire
