Description(Directed to New Broad Street.)
Sir,
Mr Boulton’s House at Handsworth [Thornhill] which is intended for Miss Boulton being no longer under the care of her family having been let to Mr James Watt [junior], it is desirable to have the property insured for a larger amount than it was by the policy before me, viz. £1200 on House & Offices adjoining, £300 on Coach House & Stabling adjoining. I should be obliged if you will have the goodness to favour me with information what addition can reasonably be made to the said sum of £1500 & by what means it can be effected without loss or without possible loss to Mr. Boulton.
I should think from the intrinsic value of the Buildings that there need be no objection to double the amount being insured viz £3000 but this is mere conjecture, & submitted to the general rules by which the Royal Exchange Assurance Co. are governed.
