Description(On the same sheet is a draft of Cheshire’s reply, 9 Oct.)

Sir,
I left directions with my servant S. Hemmings to inform me through you, at the end of three days after my departure, whether the horse which I gave him in charge had become sound. This information was necessary for my government, and I am disappointed in not recieving it. You will please therefore to learn from him whether the horse has been shewn to Mr. Lawrence, and whether it still continues lame or not. In the latter case, he had my instructions to bring the horse over here, which I should wish to be done, or otherwise to let me know that I may write to the vendor.
You will please to mention to Mr. Walker, &c., that we are all well. I am, sir, your obedient servant,
M. Robinson Boulton
