DescriptionSoho, October 9th, 1809.
Respected Sir,
I think it proper to mention, in case S. Hemmings should have been by any accident detained upon the Road, that he set out for Cheltenham with the lame horse on Friday morning; the intention of doing so, I presume, prevented him from communicating to me your pleasure on the subject, or I should have conformed to it with great alacrity.
Excepting the day of your departure, Millar has gone on steadily with the Garden Cottage, which he has begun to ceil and plaister; the carpentry is also advancing as fast as may be, and fires will be put in immediately to facilitate the early migration of Withers’s family. The Gard’ner has augmented his force and is making good progress in levelling the hill, the cellars having been filled up, so that I hope the work of the Garden will now go on without further interruption.
I saw Mr. Unett this morning; he mentioned having sent you some papers respecting your admission to the Yoxall Estate, which he expected to have received back ’ere now, and he desired me to express to you his apprehension that they will be too late if not returned immediately, as the Court is to be held on the 12th instant.
I have communicated to Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Mr. Mynd, &c., the good news of the health of yourself and the Ladies; they desire to be respectfully remembered to you and them.
I remain, Respected Sir, your obliged and obedient humble Servant,
Wm. Cheshire
M. Robinson Boulton, Esqr.,
Cheltenham.
