| Description | Has not had an opportunity to call at Soho. Mrs. Fox’s business remains unsettled “more from the indecision of old age than from any other cause,” unless it be her son’s advice. Has been to see her twice since he saw Ann Boulton. She “seemed to come into the measures proposed” by Curtis and is thankful for Miss Boulton’s liberality, but he thinks it will end in her continuing to hold the farm for another year, at the proposed £110. Has seen the son and daughter in Lichfield, who suggest waiting another year before asking Mrs. Fox to give up the farm. Will be surveying a large estate in Derbyshire till Lady Day, but will go to Soho soon after his return. |
