DescriptionAnn Boulton had a safe and agreeable journey from London, and reached Soho yesterday afternoon. She views her accident in London in the light of a fortunate escape. The preservation of her sight is a blessing. M. R. Boulton returned from a journey in Cheshire in time to meet her arrival.

Soho, September 20th, 1810.
Madam,
I have the pleasure to inform you that Miss Boulton had a safe and very agreeable journey from town, and reach’d home yesterday afternoon in good health and in that happy state of spirits which indicates that Miss Boulton views, as must all her friends, in the light of a most fortunate escape the accident which befel her in town.
The preservation of so invaluable a blessing as sight after having been placed at extreme hazard cannot be too gratefully acknowledged; and when it is added that the cure of the wound is proceeding as fast as can be expected and without any material uneasiness you will, I am persuaded, experience the sensations which are felt when alarm for the safety of a friend is sweetly subsiding, and in this belief I offer you my warm congratulations on the occasion.
Mr. Boulton returned from an excursion in Cheshire in time to meet his sister’s arrival, and I have the satisfaction to add that he is well, as are also all your other friends in this neighbourhood.
I remain, respectfully, madam, your most obedient humble servant,
Wm. Cheshire
Miss Alston,
London.
PS. As Miss Boulton now sees but with one eye, whcih sympathizes with the imprisoned orb, you will be aware that writing with her own hand is at present impracticable.
