TitleLetter. William Butler (Prescot) to William Cheshire (Soho). 16 Jan. 1811.

DescriptionHe never allows discounts; their credit is six months running credit, but they do not always get paid. The trees supplied were charged as low as they would have been if any person had taken them and paid for them before they left the ground. The seeds ordered will be forwarded immediately. Does not recommend box edgings as they harbour vermin; he prefers flagging or stone edging; has also seen strawberries used, by placing a row of hard bricks in a straight line next to the walk and planting the strawberries close to the bricks. Malley has not yet got a situation; hopes Boulton has got a good gardener. Stevenson told him that Boulton would want gooseberry and currant trees; if so, will be happy to supply them.
