A multi-media theatre folk ballad specially written by Charles Parker for the Trade Union Festivals in Birmingham, Bristol, Hayes and Southall, Leicester, Nottingham and Wellingborough. These were supported by Centre 42, founded by Arnold Wesker, with a view to bringing quality art and entertainment to working people. The theme of 'The Maker and the Tool' was the rel;ationship between people and technology, workers and their tools. Written and produced by Charles Parker, performed by the Leaveners (a Birmingham group of singers, musicians and dancers). |
