The group discuss the changing workforce of the pottery industry from artisans to university educated people with little practical experience. The group is a mix of ages and they talk about the differences in musical tastes and social activities between different generations in Stoke.

Tracks 6 - 7: Actuality with a pottery designer and Charles Parker. The volume of the recording is extremely low for most of track 6. The man talks about the tradition of pottery making in Staffordshire, with reference to how pottery designers respond to changes in society. He talks about the skill of master craftsmen and their interpretations of pottery designs into finished products. He talka bout the lack of "living response" to designs that a machine turns into a finished product.

Tracks 8 - 9: Actuality with an elderly couple in their 80s with Charles Parker. Both of the couple grew up in the pottery towns and have worked in the pottery industry. The couple discuss their daily lives including the food they like to eat. The couple talk about their local area of Tunstall near Stoke on Trent. The husband talks briefly about his youth first in the mines in the area then going to war in 1914. The couple talk about whether they were bothered by the smoke produced by factories in the area and talk about the new 'pre-fab' housing developments in Stoke. The couple discuss the difference between the pottery community and the mining community in their town.
