- 'Oversea Settlement Committee' containing correspondence between Mr. Plenderleith and the Overseas Settlement Committee concerning grant claims, returns to the Overseas Settlement Committee of children sailing to Canada and of after-care expenditure between 1930 and 1933 and copies of agreements between the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs and the Middlemore Homes for the provision of grants towards the cost of child migration and after-care. Also containing three copies of printed guidance produced for the Board of Guardians by the Overseas Settlement Department titled 'Empire Settlement Act, 1922. Migration of Poor Persons at the Cost of the Poor Rates' dated April 1929, a typescript titled 'Empire Migration Idealistic theory measured by practice' by J.L.S. Harman, President of the Imperial Ex-Service Settlers Association and A.J. Lucas, Chairman of the Lands Committee for the Victorian Division British Ex-Service Legion of Australia and a typescript of an address titled 'Settlement within the Empire' by Sir Geoffrey Whiskard, Assistant Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs.12 March 1930 - 06 December 1933 - 'Mr. Ray Canadian Manager' containing correspondence between Mr. Plenderleith and Mr. Ray, Manager of the Canadian Home at Fairview, and after the death of Mr. Ray in November 1931, with Mrs. Ellen Ray and Miss Pringle. The correspondence concerns the after-care of named children in Canada, the management of the Fairview Home, the death of Mr. Ray and the salary and terms of employment of Mrs. Ray. This section includes lists of savings held in trust on behalf of individual children. 22 September 1930 - 21 November 1933 - 'Canadian Government' containing minutes of meetings of the Empire Migration Committee March - June 1933 and correspondence between Mr. Robert Plenderleith, the Department of Immigration and Colonization for Canada and Canadian Government Agents concerning child migration, including cases of named children considered for migration to Canada. 06 November 1930 - 21 July 1933 - 'Child Emigration Society' containing correspondence with Gordon Green and other papers relating to the emigration from the Middlemore Homes of named children to Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Western Australia.
