| Description | The Special Events Committee had its origins in a Committee which was established to organise an outing to Blackpool in 1937, and a Spring fair in 1938. Following these events, the Committee became known as the Special Events Committee and was responsible for organising events such as Harvest Suppers, anniversary celebrations and activities, concerts, President's Evenings, day trips and weekend excursions and so on.
