| Description | The decision to form a Management Committee was made at a meeting of the Finance Committee in December 1980. Bernard Winspur was Chair of the Committee, a post he held from 1981 to 1994. Other members included Jack Clarke, Olive Dowdswell, Gladys Harper, Arthur Lee, Gordon Mear. It later became known as the Premises Committee.
The Committee had a number of functions. It managed lettings of rooms in the Midland Adult School Union building for various clubs and other groups, tried to find new lettings by producing publicity, created and kept up to date inventories of each room in the building, dealt with security matters, and arranged for the general maintenance and up-keep of the building, equipment and furnishings as and when required. |
