| Description | The Education Committee was responsible for organising a variety of educational activities for members of the Adult Schools. These included training sessions for Officers of the Union, the annual Autumn and Spring Conferences (see MS 703/1/10) where a day of lectures were arranged on a theme, educational weekends away, including at Bewdley Guest House, outings, discussion groups and lectures, wireless discussion groups and so on. Topics included disarmament, peace, Russia, the India question, unemployment etc.
They also arranged the Lesson Handbook Conference which gave adult school members an opportunity to discuss their views on the Lesson Handbook, and suggest improvements. The Lesson Handbook was produced by the National Adult School Organisation for use by its member schools across the country and it was received with varying levels of popularity by the different schools.
