| Description | The Midland Adult School Union Music Festival was started in 1910, and until the Second World War, was held annually in early May at the Moseley Road Institute. After the War it was held in the autumn each year. Initially introduced to encourage choral singing in schools, subsequently solo singing, instrumental music, elocution were added. Test pieces were selected by the organisers of the Festival and the Adult Schools submitted members to perform in different categories and prizes were allocated to the winners. |
