| Description | The council held 3 or 4 meetings a year but during the Second World War meetings became less frequent, later being held just once a year in the immediate years after the war. The meetings were attended by officers of the Council, representatives from the adult schools in the Sub-Union, and members of the adult schools. Reports were received and read from the Treasurer, the Secretary, the Executive Committee and from the Standing Committees, which included the Women's Committee, the Youth Clubs Committee, the Education Committee and St. Oswald's Camp. Other business of the meeting included the approval of applications from adult schools for affiliation to the Sub-union, the election of members to the council and standing committees, and an address based on the theme of that year's 'Handbook'. |
